Navmii Offline GPS USA App Reviews

Have used NAVFREE in Canada, Italy & USA. Use with iPhone 4s and io7. While definitely much more accurate for Europe, the US version is improving but thats why I can only give 3 star rating. NavFree works extremely well when combined with one of the small satellite receivers on the market which provide GPS positioning. Not only does it avoid using a cellular signal on your phone and possibly costly data charges, it works in areas where cell service is not available. Just used the app for a trip thru Montana, Oregon, Utah, Nevada & Colorado in many areas with no cell service available. My location & directions were always accurate (well most of time for the latter). NavFree also allows for "Detours" which you may encounter such as sudden sudden road closures and will recalculate a new route. Very useful when using secondary roads. Some things I dont like: - Once I calculate a route, if I use the preview function, there is no easy way to go back and start navigation (wish all navigation apps would improve the start navigation function) - routes tend to be longer and/or slower and alternates or options arent provided. - maps for Canada & US are free, but if you are navigating across the border it requires a $3.99 purchase. Really?

Canadian using an iPhone 4 here. App works great for my travels in the USA. No data required.

Looking to save on data usage while in the U.S. and this app was terrible without a data connection. Disappointing.

Good app, though could have a bit better directions for complex interchanges (Google Maps does this better with its direction arrows).

As with all of these phone-based NAV apps, I find a need to check the route overview after its calculated. But the locally saved maps are fantastic! Great to have NAV with maps, when travelling and not wanting to use a Data Roaming.

I am very impress with this off line navigation App, it know how to stay out of the way and at the same time voice guide you perfectly. I find my self using it almost all the time, it is so much better then my previous dedicated navigation device. It now feature "via points" and keep all your previous trips destinations. I use it mostly for USA and Canada seamlessly with no issues. Thanks for this App, I use an enjoy with an original "iPad mini wifi only" with an external GPS.

Best offline map ever !

This is a great app I recommend it. It even works in Europe and it is always up to date unlike some GPS.

Just discovered this app. As a truck driver, I love the option of telling the app Im either driving my car or my truck. I downloaded the USA version of the app and then purchased the maps for Canada which let me download all provinces and territories at once. Unfortunately, I cant do that for the USA which really annoys me since Ill have to download every single continental state one by one. How about a "Select all" button to make things easier on the users ?

Ive used it in many countries and it has never let me down. I had a Garmin in Portugal and I almost threw it out the window. Instead I put in the glove box and used this app for the rest of the trip and many after. Love it

Lot of annoying bugs. Only one option at a time: "no tolls", then choose a way point, then the route will default to tolls. Cannot have multiple way points. Needs data connection to show speed limits, calculate new routes. Etc.

Tried it in Arizona , suppose to work without connection , the direction works thats all, no search, no Poi showing on the map. Time to go was 1h for 10 miles to go, and I was not on walking mode. Very nice graphics that about it.

The ability to download the maps and save data while traveling is great. Havent had any issues. Find it easy to use. Saved my usual hotels and office locations in my favourites so it is easy to bring them up again. To save memory I delete the maps that I dont need and download them again when they are needed when I am on WiFi.

I was excited with this feature but very low sensitive where you are and no function to see front side by rounding monitor

The best free solution, but! There are no malls in POI. Thats discussing.
