Cant lookup addresses offline

For an offline navigation app, navmii seems to have a fatal flaw in that I couldnt get it to lookup an address without having a data connection. Type in an address or zip code without having data turned on and it fails to find it (yes, I do have the map downloaded for the area Im searching). Turn on data and it displays a list of potential matches with Google icons on them, so presumably its relying on Google to tell it the coordinates. Once an address is located you can then turn off the data connection and it will navigate fine. It also seems to remember addresses its located previously, but I always needed a data connection for the initial lookup. This appears to be a bug as the developer claims offline lookup should work, but I could never get it to function. Sure you can work around this by looking up and saving addresses ahead of time when you have access to a data connection, but with other cheap/free navigation apps that work properly offline available (e.g. Nokia Here) why would you?

Works great

Give it a try. The bugs are now fixed. Works well in NY for me.

Free offline map.

Free. It is free. Extras cost. Free for navigation though.

Terrible

No option to use 2D view with map locked north. I cannot stand the map spinning around as I drive; it makes me dizzy. Very difficult to get it to find a location by address. I will be deleting this from my phone.

"Okay" Navigation App

I found this navigation app to be okay. Its not Google Maps, but it has the ability to get me from Point A to Point B. My favorite feature of the app is the driving stats. However, I have run into a few issues/things I would like to see changed: -Routing: we should be presented with an option of more than one route. Im most definitely sure that the only route presented to us is not always the fastest way. This also makes rerouting an issue. I used this app for the first time this weekend on my way home from school for fall break. The app wanted to take me to the interstate, but I went my usual way, taking back roads, that ends up being faster. For a majority of my 2.5 hour drive, the app was constantly telling me to turn around or take me to an interstate. Very annoying since most apps get on board with the route youre taking and stops trying to reroute you. Also, we should be able to see the list of directions we are going to be taking. (For 5 mi. continue on WX road, then take a left onto YZ road. etc.) So we can make sure we are taking the route we want. -Lane Guidance! Google Maps is one of the few apps Ive tried that has it, and its a complete lifesaver if I am on a highway when I dont know where I am going. -Voice Navigation: the navigation voice that speaks actual road names instead of route numbers is an extra cost. I didnt think it would be too much to go ahead and buy it and install it, but my account was charged, and it says that it is installed, however on the drive back to school this afternoon, the app continued speaking route numbers instead of names. -Arrival time: Judging by the military time on the UI for arrival time, I can only guess that this app is developed in the UK/Europe. There are options in preferences to change kilometers to miles, except nowhere to change the military time to American am/pm time. Its annoying to translate 15:30 in my head to 3:30pm. -App Navigation: like a few other reviews I have read have also said, navigation throughout the app is a bit difficult and confusing. I have to click around until I find what I am looking for. Other than that, I think this app is pretty cool. I have not seen any road reports on my trips yet- I can only assume because of the low popularity of this app, not many people with this app are on the same roads as me. (Waze is the popular road reporting app) I like the interface with a progress bar so you can see how far along you are on your trip. I like how you can swipe on the left and see your music playing (I LOVE how I dont have to open a completely different app-which can get difficult if I am driving). I hope that these guys can add/fix the features I suggested. Right now Im not sure if I will stick with this app since right now there are other ones out there that are better. But for right now it is doing okay!

Location Services

Overall a better navigation app since it does not eat my data usage on the fly and can also use in the wireless dead zones. However, consumes a lot of battery which holds me to give this app a better rating. IOS provides an option to use location services only when the app is in use. Navmii does not take advantage of this feature and consumes location services all the time which kills the battery. Shout out to the developers: please add the feature to provide option to consume location services only when the app is in use.

Love it!

Great app, amazing graphics, easy to use

Heads Up Display

Just bought HUD. Where is it?

Amazing

Its totally my favorite navigation app.

Very slow

Most recent map update just wrecked what was a very solid gps app. Slow and very unstable.

:)

Love the speed limit part

No!

Its horrible and a wast of time. And the adds are so Annoying!!!!!

Good safety measure!

This is a great app that I recommend to everyone to get directions in situations where cell signals are not available. With winter coming, this could be a big help if you get lost in a remote area.

Fail

Couldnt persuade the app that I wasnt in England. Uninstalled.

Multiple map downloads?

Is this app limiting us to only one state map download? I cant download another state unless I uninstall the current one. Then does the app allow me to access the store to download another map. Is there something Im missing? iPhone 4s 7.1.2

Great nav app

You must down load the maps where you are going to travel, so you dont eat up your data. Used this app on an eight hundred mile round trip, and never experienced a problem.

Great but unreliable... Updates erase maps

Great app when maps are downloaded... But ... Updates erase the maps!! When a map has an update available that prevents the current version from staying usable. When the app updates all maps are lost and have to be downloaded again! This is terrible for those wanting to keep a large number of maps downloaded on a device for emergency situations. I cannot have automatic updates turned on for my device and keep maps ready to use.

Pretty Good Nav

Its a PRETTY good Nav considering it doesnt use any data whatsoever. Its not perfect, but it definitely does the job. Soon occasion, it will bring me to the wrong place which can piss me off but that does not happen often. If I cant find the right location on Navmii I just use iPhone Maps navi. Also, when showing the directions for the first time, if the user is on the street that he/she has to start on, it would be a big help of Navmii shower which direction to turn (left or right)

SUPERB

Love it. Never fails and is graphically awesome!!!!!

Net as claimed.

This app works fine, but it does not do a simple search without data connection. Ive got stuck a couple of times already using this app. If you have a plan with data this is right for you. Only one thing, if I have data on my smartphone, I can use google map with no problems. Helpless APP.
